Job duties:
Enter and monitor contract accounts payable ensuring all appropriate accounting strings and supporting documents are submitted. Notifies TBI’s Professional Standards Unit (PSU) that special contract requests have been approved and contracts can be completed for drafting and signing. Monitors the contract approval process and notifies appropriate stakeholders to ensure efficiency and continuity of the process. Tracks and notifies appropriate stakeholders of contract expiration dates. Collects data for TBI’s custom reports for management and internal stakeholders (e.g. annual temporary employee reports, legislative budget reports, etc.). Submits and notifies internal and external stakeholders of fully executed contracts. Establishes and maintains official contract file to meet record retention requirements. Completes contract summary sheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with the State of Tennessee. Monitors vendor certification and assurance updates to determine contract compliance.

Minimum qualifications:
Education and Experience: An associate’s degree and one year of experience in contract management or other related fields.

Substitution of experience for education: Two years of experience in contract management or other related fields may replace the required training.

Monthly pay: $3,206 – $5,127

CJIS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Job duties:
Responsible for training the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and assisting law enforcement agencies with all NCIC related matters. Teaches NCIC Basic Certification, Terminal Agency Contact (TAC) Orientation, and Query Certification courses. Presents at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) and prepares presentations for the Tennessee Information Enforcement System (TIES) conference and TIES review courses. Prepares and reviews test materials for classes. May also provide training to law enforcement agencies across the state.

Minimum qualifications:
Education and Experience: Graduate from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and one year of full-time experience in a criminal justice setting performing statistical analysis; review criminal history and/or biometric information; conduct audits and/or training on the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS); or carry out communication work in the field of criminal justice. Substitute experience for education: full-time experience in a criminal justice setting performing statistical analysis; review criminal history and/or biometric information; conduct audits and/or training on the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS); or performing communications work in the field of criminal justice can replace the required training from one year to the next up to a maximum of four years.

Job duties:
Responsible for receiving forensic evidence into the lab from law enforcement officers. Advise requesting agencies on recommended laboratory tests for evidence and advise requesting agencies or individuals to retrieve complete evidence. Creates case records and enters data, including case demographics and lab test assignments, using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Maintains location and security of evidence in vault area and maintains records. Distributes evidence within the crime lab according to the appropriate chain of custody, performs basic office activities and testifies in court as required regarding the chain of custody. Assists forensic experts in case work. This may include reviewing evidence, instrumental techniques, and/or other assigned tasks to assist with casework. Performs administrative case management tasks such as case assignment and case filing. Performs basic laboratory quality control tasks, including reagent preparation, equipment checks, and safety checks. Assume laboratory housekeeping responsibilities, including cleaning glassware and managing laboratory supplies.
Minimum qualifications:
Education and Experience: Education equivalent to a standard high school diploma and two years of full-time experience in one or a combination of the following: (1) any professional laboratory work or; (2) lay laboratory work receiving and classifying evidence or; (3) any professional law enforcement work or; (4) the unprofessional work of law enforcement receiving and filing evidence.
OR Substitution of Education for Experience: Course credits received from an accredited college or university may substitute for required experience on a monthly basis up to a maximum of two years (for example, 45 quarters hours can replace one year of the required experience). live).
