Volta Charging builds and operates open access electric vehicle charging stations with eye-catching digital displays that function as a sophisticated media network. Located in front of essential services such as hospitals and health networks, these sponsored charging stations provide sponsored energy to drivers who can plug their vehicles into places where they already plan to spend their time – enabling brands linked to the health to communicate directly with the target audience.
As part of the deal, Volta Charging will install 21 stations on three of the Hackensack Meridian Health main medical centers: Hackensack University Medical Center, JFK Medical Center and Jersey Shore University Medical Center. After the initial deployment, Volta Charging will deploy additional charging stations at locations across the healthcare network.
“Hackensack Meridian Health strives to create a welcoming environment for our healthcare system from the moment patients, visitors and employees enter the parking lot; we are delighted to offer a convenient and sustainable refueling service to our community, ”said Kyle Tafuri, Director of Sustainable Development at Hackensack Meridian Health. “Installing Volta charging stations on our property provides the opportunity to reduce our carbon impact by 23 metric tonnes per year per property and by 4,623 metric tonnes across all properties. We plan to communicate this positive impact by pulling used station screens to engage drivers and community members. ”
“Partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health is a visible and important step that establishes a direct link between what we drive every day and its contribution to the health of our environment, ”said Scott Mercer, founder and CEO of Volta Charging. “Every opportunity to provide convenient and reliable charging for EV drivers in places where they already plan to spend their time reminds every driver that in the future, EV owners will refuel where they drive,” and not to refuel. By switching to electric vehicles, drivers can positively impact the environment and communities that are disproportionately affected by climate change. ”
