The State of Montana selected LightBox for its broadband usable location mapping and fabric solutions

IRVINE, Calif., January 24, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — light box, a leading information and technology company, announced that the state of montana awarded LightBox a contract for their Smart fabricMT GIS product and technology to create broadband usable location mapping and analysis capabilities for Montana. Montana joins the growing list of states that have selected LightBox to ensure they have the most accurate location structure, analytics, and broadband maps. In addition to providing the location fabric, LightBox will coordinate the collection, cleansing and geospatial mapping of all data provided by the ISP to create and maintain the broadband availability map for the state of Montana.

“Free LightBox Montana opportunity to get an accurate account and assessment of the current broadband landscape,” said Chad Rupe, Broadband manager for the state of montana. “This is an extremely valuable tool as we will not need to rely on a one-size-fits-all national approach to our broadband infrastructure. LightBox is the perfect partner for this project due to its proven track record in providing the highly accurate datasets and GIS expertise to create end-to-end solutions.”

Georgia and Alabama have already leveraged LightBox data to create highly accurate broadband usable location mapping, as part of the federal government’s efforts for greater digital equality,” said Price charged, Vice President of Government Solutions at LightBox. “States are wisely taking control into their own hands to collaborate with the best data provider and GIS technology available to create their own state maps. Without LightBox, states are dependent on a national mapping effort that is unlikely to be not as fast and accurate as what the state can produce in partnership with LightBox There are potential funding shortfalls that have serious consequences for people in states that have not yet invested in their own maps.

“SmartFabric is a commercial off-the-shelf solution that states can license to achieve their timely usable location mapping goals,” said LightBox’s CEO. Eric Frank. “Our data is the best on the market in terms of accuracy and complete geographic coverage. It’s no surprise that in addition to the broadband use case, Montana plans to leverage SmartFabric data to manage assets and policymaking across a range of agencies and state departments. »
