STEM City USA to Feature Museum of the Future in Upcoming Series – US Black Engineer

Officially opened in February 2022, the Museum of the Future is an architectural icon in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The museum uses the latest technologies in virtual and augmented reality, data analysis, artificial intelligence (AI) and human-computer interaction.

A permanent exhibition space for innovation, the intellectual center works closely with international partners and research entities to study the future, conceive new ideas and create discussions on new trends.

The building is an engineering marvel, standing seventy-seven meters high with no internal pillars. The entire surface of the building is made of glass developed and manufactured with innovative technologies to improve the quality of interior and exterior thermal insulation.

The facade of the building covers an area of 17,600 square meters. Made of stainless steel, the facade panels were produced using automated robotic arms. It has one thousand and twenty-four panels representing one kilobyte, the basic unit of the computer’s digital information system. Each kilobyte is equal to 1024 bytes, 1024 symbols or characters.

The facade of the museum is illuminated by 14,000 meters of programmable LED lighting and is the only building in the world completely covered in Arabic calligraphy. The museum is an incubator for global visionaries and a comprehensive laboratory for technologies, ideas and future cities.

The museum has seven floors dedicated to different exhibits. Three floors focus on space resource development, ecosystems and bioengineering, and health and wellness. The other floors showcase near-future technologies that address challenges in areas such as health, water, food, transport and energy, while the top floor is dedicated to children. The museum’s green shelf represents the stability and strength of the Emirati experience.

The museum also includes a platform for exhibiting and testing innovations from the world’s leading technology companies and a place for partnerships with major universities and international research institutes.

STEM City USA is powered by Career Communications Group (CCG) and is built on successful best practices and proven content from the Black Engineer of the Year and Women of Color in Technology conferences, both of which operate in twin digital environments. STEM City USA is designed to provide additional content on health, training, mentoring, and lifestyle support.
