He said there is still much to do in Sabah and as a responsible leader and government, the agenda to secure a better future for the people by boosting development across the state will be intensified in various sectors.

“The government will continue to develop infrastructure and rural public services, including communication networks, improve the quality of education, health and human capital, provide more affordable housing and reduce poverty.

“Furthermore, we will increase employment opportunities, improve the level of security and, most importantly, redevelop the state’s economy after the downturn triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said. here today.

He was speaking at the State Awards Ceremony held on the occasion of Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin’s 69th birthday in Istana Seri Kinabalu, which saw 54 people receive awards, stars and medals.

Hajiji said Sabah had spent more than RM2.39 billion on development projects till September 4 this year under the second cycle of Malaysia’s 12th plan, thus utilizing 45.67% of the over 5, RM23 billion allocated under the plan for 1,118 development projects approved. projects.

He said Sabah Maju Jaya’s development program was now on track and starting to show positive results in the agricultural, industrial and tourism sectors, in addition to human capital development to ensure that children in Sabahan were not left behind. not lagging behind in the field of employment. .

“I believe people are wise enough to assess the facts of our achievements, especially in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. As a government, we are responsible not only for thinking and planning, but above all for implementing many development programs to help the people,” he said.

The Chief Minister, representing all the people of Sabah, also wished the Governor a happy 69th birthday.
