Fuji: Easily Create Reliable Vision Processing Data in Short Time – Auto Shape Generator
When creating production programs on laying machines, about 80% (Note 1)of the work is related to the creation of vision processing data. Creating data for packaging parts with multiple tracks and bumps is a very difficult and time consuming task. If the vision processing data is not set correctly, it can lead to losses such as misalignment and machine stoppage due to part recognition errors. This work is therefore extremely important to guarantee quality.
However, the volume of new programs is increasing as the number of products to be produced increases due to the diversification of market needs. In addition, in order to shorten the production run-up times, it is necessary to reduce the time required to create the programs, and the workload becomes more and more heavy.
We are pleased to present Auto Shape Generator, an application that solves the problems associated with creating such vision processing data.

It is easy to create data by selecting items from the wizard-style menu while using part images taken on the placement machine. The AI system not only identifies body shape, but also identifies bumps and tracks on parts of the package so you can create accurate shape data. This is particularly effective for creating irregularly arranged relief data.
Even if the parts are too complicated to create data automatically, it is possible to modify the data using shape data that matches the characteristics of the image. It is possible to shorten the time required to create vision processing data for 90% or more of the parts available in the market (Note 2)using automatic shape generator and shape data.

By using a dedicated camera mount, it is possible to create data offline without stopping production. The camera support for acquiring part images is equipped with the same camera and algorithms as the placement machine, which allows vision processing tests to be performed. This helps prevent machine downtime due to vision processing errors at the start of series production.
Note: A separate VPDplus license is required.
There are cases in which vision processing errors occur due to variations between batches of parts after production has started. In such cases, it is possible to quickly recover and restart production on the machine by changing the vision processing data based on the part images acquired on the machine.
