Femi Fani-Kayode: A hard blow for the butchers of our people

Over the past few weeks there has been a remarkable and devastating attack on the killer bandits and murderous terrorists in northwest Nigeria.

Zamfara State was the case in point and other northwestern states including Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kebbi and Niger State followed suit and seized the opportunity as well.

What the governors of these states have done has inspired and brought hope to millions of people across the North and even across the country.

They branded the bandits terrorists, they cut off their supplies and supply lines, they cut off their communications networks, they freed thousands of captives, they killed and captured hundreds of terrorists, and they dispersed their forces. cells and their operations and put them in disarray.

I have spoken to countless people in the Northwest over the past week and to at least three families whose children and loved ones have been released from captivity and there is a deep sense of relief that at last some thing be done.

Hope has been restored and the fact that the governors of these states lead the battle to the doors of the terrorists in collaboration with the DSS, the army, the air force, the Nigerian police and all other agencies. Intelligence and Security has proven that once there is strong determination and the political will to do something against insurgency and terrorism, there is always a way.

For this effort, we must congratulate each of the governors of these respective states and in particular the governor of Zamfara, the heads of all our security agencies, the heads of military service and President Muhammadu Buhari himself.

It is our responsibility to encourage federal and state governments when they do the right thing and to encourage our security agencies and military when they cultivate courage and take initiative and combat the evil that has plagued our earth. as she is. important for us to tell them when they are wrong.

I sincerely hope that the governors of the southern states and other regions will also cultivate the political will to take the kind of drastic measures that have been taken by the governors of the Northwest in order to save lives.

One of the most innovative and effective measures that have been taken which is unique to Zamfara and which I believe will also be introduced in some of the other northwestern states at the earliest is the shutdown of all communication networks. within the state.

It totally crippled the terrorists and their kidnapping operations and it worked wonders.

The fact that the Hon. Min. de Communcatiins, Professor Isa Pantami, can implement such measures at the request of the Governor of Zamfara and help in this way speaks volumes for him

No other minister has dealt terrorists so hard in the past six years, and none has cultivated a sense of urgency to do so.

No matter what anyone says, they can’t take it from Isa Pantami. On this point, he did very well.

The truth that this measure and policy alone has dealt a fatal blow to banditry and kidnappings in Zamfara and the only thing left to do is send the security forces to kill the terrorists that I have been informed reliably, they now do with relative ease.

Pantami has done well here and few can deny it. I salute his courage like that of Matawalle.

Those who believe this policy must be ended and who want the lines of communication reconnected as soon as possible can be described as Nigeria’s enemies and friends of terror.

They seek to undermine our security, divide our country, profit from terror, shed the blood of innocent people and take the lives of our people without a just cause.

They want to take us back to the dark days of unchallenged terror and carnage and they want to push our nation to the brink and into the hellish hell of a second civil war.

Worse yet, they are agents of foreign governments whose agenda is to completely destroy our country and turn us into the laughing syick of the world. We know who they are and will be exhibiting them soon.

For now, we need to focus on encouraging those who are doing the right thing, who have risen up and who have taken the bull by the horns.

I will stand with anyone or any group of people who will fight terrorists and send them to hell where they belong and who seek to save the lives of Nigerians and restore peace and sanity to our country.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this noble initiative and to those still sitting on the fence, I say the following:

Wake up, rise to the occasion, grow balls, step onto the battlefield and join with others, regardless of party, tribe or faith affiliation , and let’s save Nigeria together.

May God help us all.
