Austin and Travis County launch emergency alert system with American Sign Language
Alert system launched in ASL
The City of Austin’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the Travis County Emergency Management Office partnered with Deaf Link to launch the Deaf Accessible Danger Alert System , blind, hard of hearing or deaf and blind.
Austin and Travis County subscribers will receive an accessible message in ASL and English and English. The alert message will include information about the emergency and what to do next. The alert system has the ability to send accessible alert messages to registered residents before, during and after an emergency or disaster in Travis County.
When an emergency alert or other information is sent through the program, users will receive alert messages accessible on internet and video devices such as computers, cell phones, smart phones, tablets and phones. wireless braille readers.

Walk with a doc on Saturday
Dr Krupaben Patel of the Austin-Liberty Hill Regional Clinic will host the Liberty Hill area’s first Walk with a Doc event at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Lions Foundation Park, 355 Texas 332 Loop.
Patel and medical professionals will support participants and answer questions during the walk.

The estate hosts live musical series
The estate will host a series of concerts every weekend until December 31 at Century Oaks Park, 11410 Century Oaks Terrace, across from Crú Food & Wine Bar.
The events will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The series will feature local musicians including Shane Bartell, Diana Bray, David Chao, Matt Creaton, Darrell Goldman, Tommy Howard, Dave Madden, Liz Morphis, Shawn Pander, Matt Raines and David Webb during the month of October.
